ON THE ROAD WITH TRINNY WOODALL
Beauty
Blogged by: Karrinyup 10 May 2024

Any way you slice it, long-distance travel can take its toll on our health, wellbeing and, most visibly, our skin, even for the most experienced of jet setters.

So when British beauty guru Trinny Woodall visited her Trinny London store here at Karrinyup recently, we were spellbound at how polished, fresh and fabulous she looked despite clocking up some serious flying hours.

Between meeting hordes of fellow beauty devotees and chatting about her new book Fearless, a must-read guide to fashion, beauty and life, we quizzed her on how she looks after herself and her skin on the go – even at 36,000 feet.

Trinny, what do you pack for beauty and skincare when you travel?

Our Trinny Gift Sets are incredible because they have everything you need for a couple of weeks. There are many different routines to choose from, and they make amazing gifts.

What are your tips for looking good after a long-haul flight?

It's about what you do on the long-haul flight as much as after, so you've got to decide if you will sleep or pee because you can't do both! You need to drink two litres of water to make your skin lose less hydration and then put on Plump Up, our Peptide serum, followed by our Bounce Back Intense Peptide Moisturiser.  Then I put on a latex mask from Amazon, so when I arrive, my skin is really plump.

What beauty product could you never travel without?

Our BFF SPF 30+ Cream.

BFF Cream is a cult favourite. How did you come up with it?

I wanted to create a face cream you fall in love with for how it makes you feel about your skin. Using BFF SPF 30 makes you feel like you are following a good skincare routine because it gives skin a beautiful natural glow. In a way, I wanted to make the SPF 30 the least important element of the formulation because I wanted people always to wear an SPF 30 at a minimum. This product is great because many women using it didn't wear SPF before buying it. They love how it feels on their skin and love they are protecting it.

Do you take supplements when you travel?

I take about twenty supplements daily, and adding a few more is important when travelling. Daily, I use a mixture of glutathione, vitamin C, vitamin D, progesterone, testosterone, estrogen, peptides, hormonal, vitamins A, D and K as a combination, and ashwagandha, which I generally take in the afternoon, not in the morning. I also take magnesium citrate to help with bowel movements and to help calm me before sleeping.

I  take melatonin when I fly because it helps me sleep and get my circadian rhythm back on track. I take liposomal vitamin C and about 3,000 milligrams a day to fight any bugs when I travel. And lastly, I take prebiotics, which helps when you travel.

What is the best beauty product you have bought in a pharmacy abroad?

I have always loved Les Embryolisses, which you can now get in Boots (and Priceline). Also, Biafine Emulsion Multipurpose Healing Cream, which I used to buy from French pharmacies when I had very dry hands, feet or knees. I'd slather it on and wake up with skin like a baby's bottom.

What can we look forward to in 2024 for Trinny London?

So much, but I can't tell you anything yet!
